Hike ‘n get lost
Monday, September 24th, 2007It’s getting more and more difficult to keep you up to date and it seems (for me) that time is running faster towards autumn! Autumn? Well, at least temperatures are slightly dropping and make hiking more convenient. Thus, I made a tour last weekend, the weekend before last weekend and always if the weather played along. The funniest of all these tours was without doubt the one I made with friends to the mount Säntis. It was a two day hike and we slept in a mountain hut, ate cheese fondue and had plenty of traditional drinks. Funnily enough, I had no headache at all the next day and that was reason enough to treat myself to another beer….!
Last weekend then, I went with a fellow worker for a hike to the lake Murg. The weather was perfect, no wind and I felt in good shape. So good, that we decided to make an detour on a nearby hilltop. Arrived, we enjoyed the fabulous view and decided to have a rest and eat lunch. On another hilltop, a man was playing the alphorn and we were in high spirits. So long, all was how it was supposed to be and after a short rest period, we headed for the lake Murg. The descent was easy and the panoramic view was stunning. Once arrived at the lake, we directly proceeded towards the anticline and the following valley. Dammit, there it happened. We were quite sure, that we shouldn’t head for this valley and so we decided foolishly to take a route along the ridge. After half an hour, we were in the middle of nowhere amidst firs and sure to not find a way back to our car. Well, since there was only about one hour left until dawn, we decided to walk back to the lake and take the regular route. So about another two hours later, we finally arrived at our car and were (at least me) quite exhausted and happy to have finished the tour. Anyway, it was a great day and I hope to have some other hikes this year before the winter is coming…! For some pictures, see:
